We are pleased to share that applications for the Sporting Chance funding scheme are now live.

Sporting Chance Fund
Sporting Chance is designed to tackle the pressing social and economic challenges in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough by enabling access to sport and physical activity for low-income families, or people facing life challenges and barriers. This initiative aligns with Living Sport’s mission to improve health, happiness, and wellbeing by removing financial barriers to participation in sport, or wellbeing activities particularly in areas with high deprivation.
By removing financial barriers, we can boost sports participation among low-income families and priority groups in Cambridgeshire.

The Sporting Chance fund can support those in need by covering membership and session fees for participants. This assistance can help unite communities by ensuring the sustainability of local clubs and organisations through increased participation and financial stability.

By strengthening partnerships with local community organisations, we can effectively connect families in need to these programs.

The next wave of Sport Chance funding is open in March, Cambridgeshire. This grant is designed to support adults and children aged 4 years and older from low-income families in March and the surrounding areas (PE15) to participate in sports and physical activities.

Please note that being eligible for the grant does not guarantee financial assistance. We have a limited number of grants available, and demand is high. Therefore, we encourage you to complete this application form thoroughly, providing as much supporting evidence as possible.

Who can apply?

• Anyone living in or around March within a PE15 postcode aged over 4

• Receive Income Support or Universal Credit or income based job seekers allowance or PIP or income related employment and support allowance or income related free school meals or pension credit or be otherwise ‘just managing financially’ subject to referral from a professional
